Macon – A Macon man pleaded guilty to child molestation Tuesday just before his trial was set to begin.

Reginald Alonzo Brice, 46, was sentenced to serve 20 years, 12 of them in prison.

If the case had gone to trial, Chief Assistant District Attorney Nancy Scott Malcor and Assistant District Attorney Cara Fiore would have presented evidence showing Brice had sex with a then-13-year-old girl in 2014. The abuse was discovered after a family member of the girl’s found text messages between the girl and Brice that indicated the two were sexually involved.

Speaking after the hearing, Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke said, “A grown man should know that it’s wrong to have sex with a child. Now Mr. Brice has a dozen years to think about his actions.”
