Macon – Bibb County grand jurors indicted two Macon men Tuesday on allegations stemming from a December 2017, shooting on Ruby Street.
Shelley Davis Johnson Jr., 36, and Dekeledricks Jamal Jacobs, 27, are charged with aggravated battery and five counts of aggravated assault. Johnson additionally is charged with four counts of dog fighting.
Johnson and Jacobs are accused of shooting a man in the eye on Dec. 13, 2017, on Ruby Street and firing guns at four other men, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court. A law enforcement investigation also revealed evidence of dog fighting.
An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial. Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
