Macon – The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office will hold a Records Restriction information session from 5 to 7 p.m. May 6 in Courtroom C of the Bibb County courthouse.

O.C.G.A. 35-3-37 provides for the restriction of certain criminal history records for non-criminal justice purposes (such as for employment) when approved by a prosecuting attorney.

You may be eligible for records restriction if:

  • You were arrested for a crime and the case was disposed of without a conviction
  • You were convicted of certain misdemeanors while under age 21
  • You successfully completed a Pre-Trial Intervention or Diversion program
  • You successfully completed a conditional discharge sentence

Prosecutors will be on hand during the May 6 event to answer general questions about the records restriction process and eligibility for records restriction. Applications for records restriction also will be available.

** Due to the background check required for the records restriction process, no records will be restricted on site during the event.

*** While prosecutors will be able to answer questions, they are not able to provide legal advice.
